The nurturing and development opportunities obtained while growing up in St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, NY led Wendy to a life of community service.

In 1991 she was invited to join Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated where she has maintained active membership in Tau Omega Chapter, enjoys being a Silver Soror and Life Member. Although not currently active, Wendy is also a Life Member in the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc since 1964. In addition, Wendy has served on the Board of Directors for a Putnam Day Care Center, McDonough Street Community Center Head Start Program, and Brownsville Multi-Service Family Health Center (a federally qualified health center Wendy held leadership positions in each of these organizations.

Wendy retired from the MTA New York City Transit Authority after 26 years in various managerial positions. Prior to joining the MTA, her professional development was honed in positions with progressive responsibility in community development and private enterprises.

Wendy earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bernard M. Baruch College and a Masters of Public Administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service.

Wendy currently serves as the Treasurer for The Tau Omega Charitable Trust Fund, Incorporated since 2012.
