Janelle Matthews was born in Newark, NJ. She attended public school there until she obtained a scholarship to attend The Taft School, a private co-educational boarding school in Watertown, Ct. Janelle would go on to obtain a scholarship to Haverford College in Haverford, PA. There she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Sigma Lambda Chapter. Janelle majored in Political Science and studied abroad at the University of the West Indies - Cave Hill in Barbados. Janelle obtained an additional scholarship for law school and is also a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. Janelle is a former Bronx County Assistant District Attorney and works as an insurance attorney in New Jersey. She is licensed in both New York and New Jersey.
Janelle's proudest achievement is being a mother to a confident and intelligent young daughter.
