Available endowed scholarships and the eligibility criteria are listed below. Applications are received year-round by completing this application and submitting the required documents. Each fund has its own criteria regarding the disbursement of funds.
Rosalyn Graves-Wilson Health Scholarship
Based on demonstrated financial need for a student with at least a C+ grade point average. Award may only be used for expenses related to attending school; tuition, books, or room and board. This is a one-time award that is renewable for a selected recipient if they submit a new application.
Eligible applicants:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in a health-related field such as Nursing, Health Education, or Nutrition.
- Have completed at least one year of full-time study at an accredited
university/college. - Preference is given to adult applicants pursuing higher education later in life.
Enrolled in classes for the upcoming semester.
Audrey Williams Myers Expectative Scholarship
Ordinary, on the surface, people can do extraordinary things when others have high expectations of the so-called “ordinary student,” not a superstar. The purpose of the Expectative Scholarship is to encourage and partially support an African American high school graduate who has been accepted to an accredited four-year college.
Eligible applicants:
- Live or attended high school in Manhattan or was in foster care or in a shelter for more than three months in New York City.
- Cumulative high school average of 80 or better.
- Must have applied and been accepted to a four-year accredited college.
Woods White Family Legacy
This award is granted to a Black woman with a demonstrated financial need who has demonstrated a concern for women's rights and has an overall grade point average at or above a B. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of mediation skills and leadership. She may be pursuing a career in women's studies, international relations or any other field through which intergroup relations are achieved.
Eligible applicants:
- Is a female
- Is a global citizen who exhibits an interest in international relations, human rights, and social justice.
- Presents evidence of her commitment to the principle of advocating for women’s rights
- Presents evidence that she knows how to negotiate so that everyone wins and to disagree with opponents without being disagreeable.
