Parliamentarian
Christine Dudley was initiated into Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in 1984. She is also a Charter member of Pi Kappa Omega Chapter where she served as President, Graduate Advisor, and Parliamentarian. She also served as Cluster Coordinator of Chapter Presidents, Cluster Coordinator of Graduate Advisors, member of North Atlantic History Committee, and its Graduate and Undergraduate Concerns Committee. A Life member and active member of Tau Omega Chapter, Harlem, NYC, she continues to serve her Sorority in a variety of positions. She serves as the Chapter’s Chaplain, Grant’s Writer, and as a member of the History Committee. She is Co-Author of Tau Omega’s 88 year history book “Legacy of the Pacesetters of Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority A History of Timeless Service to the Harlem Community and Beyond (Authorhouse Publisher 2014).
She is a retired Social Work Administrator having received her Bachelor of Science degree SUNY, Saratoga Springs, and her Master of Science Social Work degree, Columbia University, NYC. She received a Sign Language Completion certificate, New York. Society for the Deaf Sign Language Academy and Intensive American Sign Language at Gallaudet University, Washington, DC.
Her professional career began in 1964 working for NYC’s Department of Welfare where she was recruited to join the team responsible for launching NYC’s Agency for Child Development (A.C.D). After the establishment of A.C.D., she moved on to serve as Fiscal Officer over a 24-hour residential children’s institution where she was recognized for saving the City money. She moved on to help establish and become Deputy Director of a Confidential Investigations Unit for child abuse and neglect in foster care and daycare settings. She continued implementing and coordinating Day Care initiatives for teen parent services, shelter programs, and substance abuse projects when she was recruited for the Mayor’s Office as Executive Director of a City-Wide Task Force for Pregnant and Parenting Adolescents. Her final service was Administrator over a “FOR KIDS” hotline while assisting community programs struggling to maintain city contracts. She served NYC’s Children and Family Services for 35 years. After retiring she became an active full-time volunteer.
She is a Life member of National Action Network NYC chapter where she established the Interpreter/Advocates Committee and the House of Justice Deaf Club. The Deaf Club has become a strong advocate in the deaf community hosting monthly forums, workshops, and sign language classes. In addition to State and City proclamations, the Deaf Club has received special congressional recognition for their community work.
She is an active member of Canaan Baptist Church of Christ overseeing a Deaf Ministry which provides interpreting services as well as weekly Bible study classes for Deaf and Hard of Hearing members. She is also an Adjunct Professor at NYC College of Technology, Brooklyn, NY teaching American Sign Language courses.
In addition to being Co-author of Tau Omega’s history book, she is a published author having written “Testimony of Faith” (Martin Luther King Fellow’s Press, NY 2001) and her most recent work, “That They May Hear” History of National Alliance of Black Interpreters - NYC Chapter, an Interpreter’s Journey (Authorhouse Publisher 2019).

Graduate Good Citizen of the Year Award - North Atlantic Regional Director, AKA Sorority; Women of Excellence Award- National Action Network NYC; Celebrating Differentabilities Award - Deaf Dance Jam Workshop, Inc.; Woman of the Year Award – Canaan Baptist Church of Christ; House of Justice Award – National Action Network NYC; Unsung Hero Award – Canaan Baptist Church; Outstanding Volunteer Services Recognition – Teen Age Services Act, NYC.
She is a wife, mother, and a grandmother residing with her husband Jack Daniels in the village of Harlem.
