Andrea initiated into Tau Omega Chapter in March of 2003 and has been a member of Tau Omega for 17 years serving as the youngest President in years of service in Tau Omega’s history! Prior to her role as Chapter President, she held a variety of leadership positions with increasing levels of responsibility within the chapter. As President, she automatically served on the board of The Tau Omega Charitable Trust Fund and was appointed to serve as a regular member of the board in 2019. In 2018, Andrea was appointed to serve as the North Atlantic Regional Representative to the International Technology Committee and to the Advisory Board of Catholic Charities at the Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Center located in Harlem, New York, and still serves in those capacities.

During her tenure, she has worked effortlessly with the members of Tau Omega to positively impact the Harlem Community with a variety of Health, Educational, Financial and Environmental programs. She focused on chapter member responsibility and accountability for the chapter through programs thus chapter membership increased by 27% in 2018 and an additional 9.3% in 2019. On the regional level, she has served on the technology support team under two different North Atlantic Region administrations. In 2018, in her role as NAR Technology Vice Chairman, she managed the technical needs for over 8,900 sorors of the North Atlantic region; presenting at Cluster Conferences educating sorors on how to navigate the NAR Website, the online conference registration portal, and technical Do's and Don’ts.

Andrea served as the 87th North Atlantic Regional Conference Chairman, presided over 50 programs, social activities, and operations committees, and hosted over 3000 sorors in New York City at the Hilton Hotel; ensuring that all who attended had a “Pinktastic” time. In April 2018, Soror Andrea was recognized by the Allied Lodge No. 1170 of F. & .A.M of New York City, for her dedication and hard work of providing service to the Harlem community through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. In 2019, she was recognized for her continued service to all mankind by the Go Get’ It Empowerment Conference and received the Rudy Powell Memorial Award from the Kappa Omicron Chapter of the local chapter of Omega Psi Pi Fraternity, Incorporated.

Soror Andrea took her service to all mankind one step further, using her technological skills to volunteer when she can with Black Girls Code. Andrea was invited to serve on the inaugural host committee in 2018 and again in 2019 for a Susan G. Komen Harlem brunch. With her service to the committee, she was recognized by the organization for her strong leadership and dedication to improving health outcomes for underserved communities of Harlem.

Since June 2018, she has been working feverishly to help her best friend/soror identify a bone marrow donor and through her search of trying to find a matching blood stem cell/marrow donor, she realized that not only her best friend/chapter soror was in need but many more sorors were/are in need and that people of color needed to be educated in general about the registry and being a donor. Locally, she Invited Dr. Ron Jacob, Executive Director of SAMAR with “Be the Match” to present at chapter meeting to bring awareness of the need of minorities to be tested and join the registry. She encouraged other chapters to hold informationals and campaign through social media. She petitioned the North Atlantic Region to participate in a National Donor Campaign through Samar & Be the Match in efforts to secure a bone marrow donor match not only for her best friend but all sorors in need; all whilst bringing awareness about the registry and where African Americans stand in relation to other nationalities.

Andrea has remained highly visible in the Harlem Community and within the Sorority during the 2018 - 2019 calendar year. She attended all cluster, regional and international conferences, served actively on the Cluster III Presidential Council, and attended all Tau Omega programs while juggling a full-time job as a Legal Project Manager at the prominent shareholder law firm of Greenberg Traurig; where she combines her technological knowledge and unique leadership skills in overseeing the management, administration, and operation of the firm’s Products Liability Group. She is also a dance mom to her daughter Autumn, who competed regularly throughout the year domestically and internationally before graduating high school and is now pursuing her undergraduate degree in veterinary medicine at Tuskegee University. Andrea is always present when she and/or Tau Omega were honored or called upon her with a need.

Andrea has a “growth mindset” which allowed her to foster and promote the pinnacles of our illustrious sisterhood. She believes that the members of Tau Omega Chapter can utilize their most basic abilities for the advancement of the Harlem community, as well as the advancement of Tau Omega Chapter and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®.
